Training Program for Front Line Staff on Affordable Housing (Web Conferencing)

Coverage :

The above 3 days Training program was organised by the Academy in collaboration with Sa Dhan, an Association of Community Development Finance Institution and UK Government. 107 officials of MFIs, HFCs, SFBs attending the Program. The aim of the program was to equip he officials of these institutions to undertake financing of affordable housing.

The coverage included housing scenario , the institutional framework for housing finance in the country and stake holders in the housing and housing finance. The coverage also included type of properties and property titles, investigation of title and report on title as also appraisal and security of housing loans. Disasters and relevance of insurance as risk mitigant was also discussed.
Housing for all under PMAY-(Urban) and under PMAY( Rural) was also covered.

This was the 14th program organised by the Academy.

The above Training cum skill development Programs by the Academy was to make our educated youth switch from academic environment to job environment. It was an attempt by the academy in collaboration with housing finance companies to integrate academics into requirement and knowledge of the job. The above skill development programs helped fresh graduates compatible for the job and enhanced and improved their employment opportunities and helped in making their career rewarding and satisfying.

The coverage included macro view of the housing finance industry as also over all Indian financial system. Understanding of regulatory policies and environment. Understanding of the housing finance companies, its products, sources etc. Understanding of property titles. Loan disbursement and post disbursement compliances. Appraisal of home loan proposals. Understandings of risk management aspects in housing finance. Frauds in housing finance, their prevention and monitoring. Regulatory aspects of real estate business. Scheme of the Central Government known as Pardhan Mantri Avas Yojna – Urban and Rural & facility of refinance from NHB.

During this training program, it was the Academy’s endeavour to enrich the domain knowledge of the participants We strongly believe that a person working in the sector should not only have the knowledge about the work which he/she is performing for the time being but should have basic knowledge of the entire sector and should feel at home and confident.

To bring practical approach to the whole exercise, we also involved some of the housing finance companies. The officials of housing finance companies covered wide gamut of topics with their hands on experience. The coverage by them included topics like customer understanding, identification of right customer, right prospecting, products and process, Log in procedure, credit function –practical aspects, technical appraisal, legal appraisal, practical aspects of operation, compliance and collection function, customer service and about HR policies of the housing finance Company.

In addition the coverage also included grooming of soft skills, communication skills, managerial skills, decision making, net working skill and socializing skills, yoga etc.
